Available from Metromatics Ltd , Acromag’s rugged I/O server industrial PCs are now U/LcUL listed, with approval for use in Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D hazardous conditions containing volatile substances.

Acromag is an established designer and manufacturer of measurement and control products, offering a complete line of embedded I/O products including bus boards, mezzanine modules, wiring accessories and software.

Already ruggedised for dependable computing in sites subject to extreme temperatures, shock and vibration, the Acromag’s fanless industrial PCs now have Underwriters Laboratory (UL) certification for Class I Division 2 Group A, B, C and D hazardous locations with volatile substances.

The UL approval now allows the use of the I/O server fanless embedded computers and their plug-in I/O modules in environments containing flammable liquids, gases, or vapours. UL's Class I Division 2 certification is often required for electronics deployed in chemical, oil, gas, mining, and other manufacturing facilities.

Equipped with the higher safety rating, the I/O servers can be installed closer to sensors and actuators to reduce installation costs for monitoring and control of automated machinery.

Additionally, the fanless industrial PCs have no internal cables while conduction cooling removes heat without open vents or fans for more reliable operation from -40ºC to +75ºC.
