Auckland-based Fulghum Limited manufactures conveying systems. The company offers its services in conveyor systems, cranes, storage bins, radial cranes, vibrating conveyors and log cranes. The company also supplies belt conveyor, vibrating conveyors and chain conveyor systems. These conveyor systems from Fulham Industries are used to transport wood chips from drum screen processing to rail and truckload out operations.
Automatic controls are installed in these systems to make them available in the wood yards and satellite mills. A chain conveyor moves logs from a de-barker discharge chute to a chipper in feed. In short wood chip mills, deck wide configurations of these chain conveyors move logs on the live deck to the slasher line and through slasher processing. These vibrating conveyors feed trim blocks, edgings and slabs to the wood chippers. These vibrating conveyors are manufactured in two sizes: 18x 27 inches wide by 9 inches deep and 24x33 inches wide by 9 inches deep. These conveyors are made of 1/4 inch steel plate. An eccentric drive helps the movement of these conveyor systems. The drive and flat springs are tuned to maintain the natural frequency of the conveyor.
