Speedglas ProTop safety welding helmets, available from BOC , combine safety helmet, welding shield and auto-darkening lens into one.
The safety welding helmets have been specifically designed for welders that operate in areas that have overhead dangers, such as moving machinery, cranes, and protruding beams.
The pivot mechanism on Speedglas ProTop safety welding helmets connects the welding shield to the safety helmet. When the welding shield is lifted, regular welding safety helmets can generate a forward centre-of-gravity. This can place extra strain on neck muscles and can make the user feel off-balance.
The pivot mechanism on the ProTop safety welding helmet has two sets of axes.
The first exists to lift the shield away from the welder’s face, and the second nests the welding shield down low over the safety helmet. This action ensures a completely balanced, locked-down position on top of the safety welding helmet.
The shield will unlock automatically when it is pulled back down into position over the face.
