WeldGuard Hi-Vis Lightweight Welding Jackets
WeldGuard Hi-Vis Lightweight Welding Jackets

For the first time in New Zealand, welders will now be more easily seen and protected with Hi-Vis welding jackets introduced into the market by 2008 WTIA Welding Company of the Year, BOC .

According to Nathan Abela, BOC Product Manager, Safety, the welding jackets are Hi-Vis as well as lightweight and come with vents to enhance comfort for the wearer. The Hi-Vis jackets are made from 330gsm treated cotton with Pyrovatex technology to give it added fire protection.

All fire retardant cotton items have been tested for durability, flame resistance, radiant heat as well as molten metal splash and undergo dermatological tests. The FR properties of the Pyrovatex fabric used in the welding jacket will last the life of the garment.

Design features of the Hi-Vis welding jacket

  • Secured with a front opening Velcro strip
  • Leather sleeves for added durability
  • High neckline for extra protection
  • Open ended cuffs finished with a fire retardant fabric 1.5cm in width
Hi-Vis welding jackets meet European standards for Welder Use NC (EN470-1), Flame Resistance (EN531), Connective Heat B1 (EN367), Radiant Heat C1 (EN366) and Iron Splash E1 (EN373).

The new Hi-Vis jacket represents a major innovation in the market, adding to the already successful 2009 Weld Guard range and is available throughout the BOC Gas & Gear network.
